The Lumaneta Letter
Make one safe move when a bank email arrives
If an email from your bank seems urgent, make one safe first move.
If a bank email makes you worried, you do not have to act fast. A calm first step can keep your money and your peace of mind.
The safest first move is simple: do not click any links in the email. Scammers design urgent-looking messages to get quick clicks. Instead follow these steps to check it safely.
- Open. Open your bank’s website in a new browser window or their official app. Do not use any link from the email.
- Sign in. Sign in like you normally do and look for messages or alerts inside your account. If nothing appears, the email is likely fake.
- Call. Call the number on the back of your bank card or the number listed on the bank’s official site to confirm if the email is real.
This approach keeps you in control and avoids giving scammers a foothold. If the bank confirms the email is real, follow their instructions from your account or their verified phone line.
Take your time and trust your instincts. If something feels off, the slow, careful move is the right one. Warmly, Emily
